Tiger Water Polo Club located in Pittsburgh, PA seeks an Assistant Water Polo Coach to support our 8 to 18-year-old athletes.  Our Club is a year-round, non-profit program dedicated to youth development through the sport of water polo.  We are supported by an enthusiastic group of member families, several very active and involved water polo alumni, and a community of local businesses and schools that see the value in our program. 

Our program is professionally coached by full-time head coach Damir Matanovic along with several part-time assistants, who have the background, skills, and experience to maximize the experience for our participants.   Consistent growth in Club membership makes this the ideal time to add a full-time Assistant Coach to our staff. 

Duties and Responsibilities include:

·       Teach athletes fundamental and advanced water polo skills and techniques

·       Attend assigned practices and games, including weekend commitments with travel (cost of travel funded by the Club)

·       Communicate with parents through email, phone, text, and in person meetings to enhance athlete training and to ensure alignment of expectations

·       Promote a positive training environment with all athletes

·       Must be available as Head Coach in Summers, including participation in Junior Olympics

·       With head coach, coordinate and prepare water polo training activities

·       Prioritize an environment of safety and provide first aid when required

·       Maintain a proactive approach to athlete safety and health

Position requirements include:

·       Proven ability to demonstrate the highest standard of leadership, sportsmanship, and respect

·       Positive role model and strong work ethic

·       Commitment to the education and development of athletic skills and character of young athletes

·       Minimum of 5 years of experience participating as a water polo athlete

·       Minimum of 5 years of experience coaching, preferably under 18-year-old athletes

·       Must maintain USA Water Polo Coach certifications

·       Must be able to pass Pennsylvania Child Abuse Clearance requirements
