SHS Football - Choose to Include Initiative

Good Afternoon SHS Football Families !!

As we gear up for the season, we wanted to share some very exciting things that are planned for our football players. As you may be aware the Sparta School District is embracing the “Choose To Include” initiative. This initiative works to ensure that children with special needs are fully included. Frank Marchiano, SHS Head Coach,  has expressed his deep interest in building a connection between our Football Team and Special Olympics/ Unified as well as all individuals with special needs.

To show our support , our SHS Football Family is already taking steps to make sure that we get this initiative started the right away.  We are purchasing T-shirts, wrist bands and helmet stickers that reflect the unity between our team and Special Olympics.  These items will be shared during two lunch events led by Coach Marchiano and our team with special needs students, which are scheduled for June 16th and 17th. More info on this will follow.

This initiative is just one of the many planned for the upcoming season to build and sustain fully inclusive relations between our players and our community.
