SHSFBC Meeting Minutes - April and May
SHSFBC August:
Welcome - Season is in full swing
1 Film Crew (Video) - Totally re-vamped and being handled by professionals (Mat and Zach) - We still need 1 volunteer for game day(s).
2. Snack Shack Transition - to Rick and Lisa Smith (Thank You !!) Need to set a date to clean out the snack shack and set up Health Department inspection.
3. Announcer - Dave Sears. Can't make the opening game so Lenny Fontz will fill in for hin.
4 Jane Esposito Program Update - Senior Ads due to Ann Sears. Have heard nothing from Band. Cheer is represented and checks will be dropped off shortly. Family ads are due to Janine Struble (there is no charge for this ad).
5. Senior player and cheerleader photo shoot is 6pm on Wednesday in the MRC. All teams arrive in FULL uniform for Team Thursday at 8am.
6. Cheer bios are done and loaded into Google. Senior football player bios are due soon.
7. Chenoah is handling sandwiches this year. An email will be coming
8. Field Painting - Blll Cisko to handle
9. Broadcast with Morris Sussex - Sunday September
10. Jack Dau - will clean up Cassels monument

12. Fundraising: Program Update - Corporate Sponsorships We are in good shape.
13. Beefsteak Dinner August 25th @ VFW August 20th headcount due - tickets available at door as well.
14. Apparel Update - Sold 68 Player Packs - pants done......waiting for jersey numbers. Online store got over $4K worth of orders. All players and coaches will receive long sleeve t-shirts. Two tone golf shirts ordered for coaches and volunteers (film, chains, shack). Lawn signs, sweatshirt sign - agreed on home jersey. All players get yard signs.

SHSFBC Program Notes:
PLAYER REGISTRATION DEADLINE JUNE 1ST:
- All players must complete the online registration form NO LATER THAN June 1st – There is NO COST to register
- NEW this year – parents will have the OPTION to pay their booster club dues on-line (via credit card)
- Sizes submitted within the online registration system will be used to order camp gear
- Online registration is available from our new team site: www.shsfbc.org (use the link provided on the main page)
SHSFBC DUES:
Family dues for the season are $170. There is no additional charge for multiple players. Each family will receive a $15 discount if payment is made by June 1st. To take advantage of the discount, please submit payment in full via credit card (on-line ONLY) or check (payable to SHSFBC in the amount of $155, mailed to PO Box 695, Sparta, NJ 07871). Please contact a member of the booster club if this will present a financial hardship.
MEDICAL FORMS
Be sure to get all required medical forms in to the school nurse. Forms can be found HERE or on the Sparta.org high school website under the Athletics tab. Players can NOT practice without proper medical clearance from the school nurse.
STAY INFORMED WITH REMIND
Our primary method of communication will be email, however, reminders for important dates, times, reminders or last minute changes will be sent as a text message using the app REMIND. Enrollment within the Remind App is NOT AUTOMATIC. In order to receive text messages, each player / parent MUST self-enroll as follows: Text @4d4gkh to 81010 on your cell phone to be added to the group. You can unsubscribe at any time.
SHSFBC WEBSITES
- We are excited to announce the addition of a new, internal, team-based web platform through which we will gather, post, coordinate and communicate key information to players and parents. This site can be accessed from this url: www.shsfbc.org. This website is for use of those WITHIN our program (players / parents / coaches / Board of Directors)
- We will continue to post program information, photos, scores and updates for communication to the general public through our external website, which is available @ www.spartaspartans.org
IMPORTANT DATES:
2018 KICK OFF MEETING HOSTED BY COACH MARCHIANO 3/27:
- Our kick off meeting, hosted by Coach Marchiano, will be held on March 27th @ 6:30pm @ The SHS MRC (Library).
- Fan gear / team apparel will be available to purchase by credit card, check or cash
- Each player must have parent representation in attendance
ON-LINE REGISTRATION OPENS 3/28
Online registration (via our team website: www.shsfbc.org) will open on March 28th
SHSFBC DUES DISCOUNT DEADLINE 6/1 :
The deadline to receive a $15 SHSFBC deadline is June 1st
SPARTA DAY 6/2:
Sparta Day is a great day to mingle with the community. Each year, SHSFBC sets up in the concession area and sells food and football apparel. Player and parent volunteers are needed to help make this day a success. More information will be sent in the coming weeks to sign up for a shift that works best with your busy schedules.
BEEFSTEAK DINNER 8/25:

MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT (LAURA):
Monogram dinner for Sr. Athletes is net week Scholarship Committee SHSFBC Scholarship Committee is giving 3 scholarships. May 30th @ Perona. (Thank you, Scholarship Committee)
Rick and Lisa Smith will be taking over the Snack Shack for the 2018 season. (Thank you Lisa and Rick !! ) We will be looking for volunteers to get together to clean out the shack in August - email will follow. (Thank you, Rick and Lisa)
We have secured a Varsity photographer confirmed : ) JV games will be photographed by Stephen Murray - We need a volunteer for Freshmen photos (thank you Chenoah and Stephen).
Tal Cheer and Adela have agreed to oversee video for Varsity games. Tal and Laura will have a meeting to discuss further. (thank you, Tai and Adela)
We need a statistician for Varsity games - Jane will post the position online (thank you, Jane)

Hudle equipment was returned - SHSFBC will receive a check from Greg once he receives the credit.
Lou gave an update on the incoming / outgoing funds. (Congratulations SHS Baseball who won their game today !! )
APPAREL UPDATE" Liz showed the new 2018 Team Gear Pack - VERY nice !!! Liz also will have apparel for sale at Sparta Day - and will be working with Chris on setting up the online store in the future. SHS Football zip code car magnets will also be available.

SHS FOOTBALL APPAREL (Liz B)
Liz has ordered magnets and caps (in white and blue) and is also working with the seniors on design for the 2018 "Player Pack".
Camp Gear (2 shirts and 1 pair of shorts) is also in-design.
2018 SHS FOOTBALL FILM CREW:
We are desperately in need of volunteers to serve on the film crew for the upcoming season. Several alternatives are being investigated. This is a CRITICAL component within our program, as mentioned by Coach Marchiano during our kick off meeting. Volunteers and ideas are welcome !!
