Confederations Cup 2019

Sport Confederations Cup 2019
The Confederations Cup rose to prominence in 2005 when it was established as a vital forerunner to the World Cup. Since that auspicious summer, the tournament has been held in the same country that will host the World Cup the following year. The Confederations Cup has subsequently become a vital part of preparation for global football's most celebrated tournament.

A Football program might be just what’s needed to take your young player to the next level. It’s the perfect resource for youth Football players to make an improvement on their hitting, fielding and throwing the ball.

Coaching Continuity
Coaching continuity is another differentiator derived from our club's size and structure. Unlike many larger clubs, our teams' coaching staffs stay the same from year to year (yes, coaches occasionally come and go, but our staffs are very stable). Continuity should not be underestimated, as the coaching staff is present to observe player progression at practices and games, from season to season and year to year (i.e., rather than starting anew with a new coach the next year).

Playing Time
Playing time is determined solely by the coaching staff. All healthy players will get on the field, but playing time will not necessarily be equal. Criteria used by the coaching staff to determine playing time are: number of players available, practice performance, prior game performance, practice attendance and game situation (e.g., tight game, blowout).

Roster Size
Roster size is determined by league rules. Maximum roster size increases with age and numbers on the field (e.g., 11v11). Many club teams strive to pack their rosters to the maximum. Why? Not because it's good for the players. Our approach is to field squads with rosters less than the maximum. Generally, we shoot for 16 players on an 18 maximum squad. The end result is considerably more playing time for our players

Format:
The eight qualified teams were drawn into two round-robin groups: two teams from the same confederation could not be drawn in a group, except if there were three teams from the same confederation (something that happened for the first time in the 2017 edition when hosts Russia were joined by World Cup champions Germany and European champions Portugal). Every team played all other teams in their group once, for three matches.

The top two teams of each group advanced to the semi-finals, with the winners of each group playing the runners-up of the other group. The rankings of teams in each group were determined as follows (regulations Article 19.6):

  1. points obtained in all group matches;
  2. goal difference in all group matches;
  3. number of goals scored in all group matches;

If two or more teams were equal on the basis of the above three criteria, their rankings were determined as follows:

  1. points obtained in the group matches between the teams concerned;
  2. goal difference in the group matches between the teams concerned;
  3. number of goals scored in the group matches between the teams concerned;
