FIRST TEAM || The Saints secure the service of midfield magician Daniel Pauli ahead of the 2023 season

Eastern United FC is delighted to announce the signing of former Adelaide Hills Hawks player Daniel Pauli ahead of the 2023 season.

Daniel Pauli, 27, was born in 1995 in Adelaide, Australia.
Pauli is set to join the Saints ahead of the 2023 season after 4 consecutive seasons with Adelaide Hills Hawks in the State League 1 and 2.
He started playing club football at the age of 5 for Adelaide City, he spent all his junior years at the club that his dad got involved him with and nurtured the love for the sports thru his family. His parents have always played a big part in supporting him as a footballer from a young age and still do today.

Pauli was playing football for Metro in 2012, he was playing for their U19's squad and after some good performances (scored 8 goals in 16 matches), he received the call up by Ivan Karlovic to the First Team squad for the match against Croydon Kings (2013 NPL season - round 11) were he made
his First Team debut as a 17 years old.
Under Karlovic, Metrostars won back to back premierships and were crowned NPL Champions of Australia.

In 2015, he moved to the Hawks Nest to seek more game time as a 19 years old and after 2 good season with the club he returned to play NPL football with WT Birkalla a stint that didn't last long as he returned to the Hawks halfway thru the season.

At the Hawks, he establish himself as one of the best players of the club each season and collected 166 appearances over 8 years for the club.

Daniel Pauli, had this to say:
"I decided to join the Saints because they are professionally run club with big ambitions. After sitting down with Gabriel in the off season he explained to me the project for the 2023 season and how he believesI can add to the quality the team already has. "

He then added:
"I believe the club's philosophy to keep the ball on the deck suits my style of play and I look forward to playing an attractive brand of football."

Manager Gabriel Markaj had this to say about our new signing:
"After a discussion with our sponsors and board we decided to set certain goals this season and to reach those goals we needed to improve our First Team squad and we targeted 6 players that we wanted to bring at the football club and Pauli was at the top of the list. I always thought when we played against Hills how effective and good this player can be in our system and we kept an eye on him during the whole year the way that we did with the other targets and by the end of the season we knew he will be very functional to our game model."

He added:
"Another important thing for us was his passion and character, players that we bring in must have the same values as the rest of the team such as work ethic and he definitely does, so I can't wait to see him in the Saints shirt gracing our supporters with cheeky plays with Lesi and the many talented footballers that we have at the club."
