I don't know if the manager's job was in jeopardy after last week's bad loss, but it was good to get back to winning. The new defensive alignment worked well, turning a 6-3-5 double play on our way to a shutout. 

In addition to a great pitching day in which he allowed no runs, Joel's "ground rule double" would have been a home run at any other field in the league. Daniel Rubin's 3-for-3 day and the return of Steve Hazan countered a weak 1-for-8 from the top two spots in the lineup.

Tough game next week against a solid 3-1 Rye team.
