That was some outstanding defense played by our team today. From the first inning 7-6-5 to cut a runner down at third base, to Daniel Rubin turning the 4-3 double play, to Ron Acker ranging far (FAR) into the gap to twice rob TIC-NR hitters of sure home runs.
I did not realize it while the game was going on, but Joel did not walk a batter and only allowed two hits after the first inning. If not for a throwing error by the third baseman, he would have retired 13 in a row between the second and fifth innings!
Two games next week...win 'em both and we're guaranteed a share of first place.
