Maccabi USA Softball

Maccabi USA, the organization that sponsors the US teams at Maccabi sporting events all over the world, including the World Maccabiah Games held every four years in Israel, is holding open tryouts for its men's fastpitch softball program in Central Park on April 23 (see the flyer under "quick links" on the WHSL.org home page) for more details). This tryout, the first that has ever been held in the New York area, is for Jewish ballplayers interested in trying out for the fastpitch teams that will play in the PanAmerican Maccabi Games in Sao Paulo, Brazil in December 2011 and/or the World Games in Israel in July 2013.
Harrison shortstop Mike Goldman has been a member of three previous MUSA fastpitch teams that competed in Chile, Argentina and Israel, and will be joining the Masters team that will compete in Brazil later this year. If you have any questions about the tryout, the program or the game of fastpitch softball in general, please feel free to e-mail Mike at mgoldman@cravath.com. If you plan to attend the tryout, please let Mike know by e-mail and fill out the application and waiver (found under "quick links" on the WHSL home page) and mail both (together with the $40 application fee) back to the Maccabi USA office in Philadelphia.
