It's Playoff Time

The 2017 WHSL Playoff Bracket is now live. And it looks like a fun one.

Congrats to B'nai B'rith for posting the first undefeated WHSL season since Greenburgh accomplished the feat in 2012. A 16-0 regular season isn't necessarily a guarantee of postseason success, however. Back in 2012, Greenburgh marched to the finals but WJC swept Greenburgh two games to none in the best-out-of-three final series. We'll see if B'nai can run the table.

Last year's finalists, Chappaqua and Larchmont, are this year's #2 and #3 seeds, respectively. That means only one of those teams can make it back to the championship series.

Looking at the other side of the bracket, if 9-7 First Hebrew can overcome 10-6 Scarsdale next Sunday, it will likely set up a rematch of last year's second-round upset, when First Hebrew shocked B'nai by the score of 4-2. But First Hebrew shouldn't look past the first game. That's because Scarsdale took the teams' regular season meeting, 4-1.

Hope you enjoy your Labor Day. Good luck to all in the playoffs!
