Let's Play Two -- and win!
Excellent work today, sweeping a doubleheader and regaining a share of first place.
Game one against Shaarei Tikvah was surprisingly competitive. Their pitcher was throwing hard strikes, their defense was catching the ball, and they were roping some solid singles. Only two years into their WHSL existence and you can see ST is really improving.
We squeaked by in the first half of the doubleheader thanks to solid pitching from Steve, our first home run in forever, another Daniel Rubin double play, and terrific outfield defense from Marc, Ron and Danny Harelick.
Game two was a different story. We took advantage of CSI missing a lot of players, dropping hits throughout their three-man outfield. Joel had a no-hitter going into the sixth inning. Joel, Jeffrey and Josh each had three hits to set the pace for our offense.
Next week is a very big game, as we host 2007 champions Larchmont.
