Storm 16u wins Championship at Maplezone

Storm won the 16u All American tournament at Maplezone in Aston Pa. Storm went 2-1 in pool play and in beating the Philly Whiz Kids on Sat. The win gave Storm the pool victory. Sunday Storm beat Falcons Baseball in a semi-final matchup 4-0 behind the great pitching of Jack DeSpain. Timely hitting and great defense got the job done. Shane Williams closed out the game on the mound after an injury caused DeSpain to leave the game in the sixth inning. The Championship game saw Storm win a 1-0 nail-biter against the Sluggerville Blue Sox. Again pitching and a timely double by Justin Kullman gave Storm the only run they would need to win it all. Trent Moyer started the game on the bump giving up no runs thru 2 innings. Thylar Summerall came in relief of Moyer and went 5 innings and collected the Win. A great diving catch in right field by Shane Williams preserved the 1-0 victory for Storm.
