1/8 and 1/9

This update serves to speak to the HTAA Basketball plan for the weekend of 1.8 and 1.9.  We will coordinate with the Haddon Twp School District as we move forward.

Please refer to htaabasketball.org for exact times.

There are a few key non-negotiables as we move forward:

  1. If your athlete feels any symptoms (Sore Throat, Muscle aches, Vomiting, Diarrhea, Chills, Fatigue, Headache, Congestion or runny nose, Nausea) please keep them home!

  2. Each player entering the gym will need to show a green screen from https://screener.htsd.us/.  Coaches will check them!

  3. If you decide to hold your athlete out for a week due to any concerns, please know we will not unenroll any athletes who miss a week or two.  Please feel agency over choosing what is best for your child.  If your child is in 3rd-7th, please correspond with their coach to respect their planning and allow them to hold on to an appropriate jersey (size) for your child.

  4. 1 spectator per athlete.  All coaches, spectators, and scorekeepers are to be masked.

1st and 2nd Boys/Girls clinic is postponed until 1/15.  This is both out of caution and a response to the health status of our volunteers.  Neither the boy’s nor girls’ clinic would have enough adults to run the events properly this weekend.

On January 15th, we expect to run the clinic.  Each player entering the gym will need to show a green screen from https://screener.htsd.us/.

We are trying to delicately balance a parent’s desire to watch your child with the health benefits to limiting the number of people in the gym.  Please know that on 1/15 we will limit spectators; 1 per athlete. We would appreciate anyone willing to wait in the hallway.

There is a possibility we may ask the athletes to wear a mask.  Our coaches will adjust the workload to accommodate the mask-wearing experience.  This was largely successful last winter when we ran basketball with 0 outbreaks.

3rd and 4th Beginners and 5th, 6th & 7th Juniors Basketball.
Please refer to htaabasketball.org for exact times.

We will be off on 1/8.

We will offer practice for these teams on 1/9.  Please refer to htaabasketball.org for exact times.  Even though these are listed as games, we will use this as practice for teams to meet for the first time!  Each player entering the gym will need to show a green screen from https://screener.htsd.us/.

We are trying to delicately balance a parent’s desire to watch your child with the health benefits to limiting the number of people in the gym.  Please know that we will limit spectators; 1 per athlete. This is especially true on 1/9 as this will only be a  practice.  We would appreciate anyone comfortable with parents dropping their children and picking them up after practice.  If you choose to stay, please wear a mask, and again, we would appreciate anyone willing to wait in the hallway.

We are going to require the athletes to wear a mask on 1/9 (Masking policy will be revisited on a week-to-week basis). Our coaches will adjust the workload to accommodate the mask-wearing experience.  This was largely successful last winter when we ran basketball with 0 outbreaks.
