OVERVIEW

Offside Tag is a combination of Australia’s mainstream sports (League, Union, AFL, Soccer, Netball, Touch, Tag) with a touch of NFL. Think Tag Combined with Unlimited 360 Degree Passing. It’s the perfect cross-code game, bringing players from all sports together!

 

 
Location – MEDOWIE : BOYD OVAL. 

Date - Monday 19th October to Monday 7th December 2026

Time - 5.30 pm to 8.30 pm 

ALL  AGES : Ideal Team Size -
Juniors - 10 players - 6 on field & up to 4 reserves
13 years & older - 12 players - 7 on field & 3 up reserves 

All individuals will be placed within a team any given evening. 

 

Port Stephens Mudcrabs Local Structure : 

*Juniors 5-9 yrs play a full 20 minutes straight with 6 players on field & up to 4 reserves.

*Juniors 10-12 yrs play a full 25 minutes straight with 6 players on field & up to 4 reserves. 

*Youth 13-16 years play a full 35 minutes straight with 7 players on field & up to 3 reserves. 

*17+ / Adults play a full 40 minutes straight with 7 players on field & up to 3 reserves. 

NEVER PLAYED BEFORE - NO WORRIES!!! 

Players register individually & you will be placed in a team any given evening. 
 

Note: Belts/Tags will be provided on the day if players do not have Offside Tag shorts.

 
POINTS OF DIFFERENCE

     360 Degree-Passing - Pass unlimited times in any direction (yes, including forward)

   
 Mod Size League Ball - Promotes better grip and more exciting attacking options

   
 Wide, Short Field - Half the length of a touch field (same width)

   
 Simple, Fun, Tag Team Sport.

1 Point TRY
Standard TRY Zone

Intercept and simply walk into the START Zone
Additional 1 POINT for a Female TRY within mixed games within absolutely any TRY zone. 

Teams win by scoring the most amount of points via ‘tries’’.

 
Set Attacking and Defending Lines - In order - red, orange, blue, try line

   
 5 x Plays Per Set - Attackers don’t lose possession for an error, just lose the 1 play

   
 Defence line is 10 metres from any given attacking start line. 

   
Only 1 Try Line - Teams rotate running direction after each set

   
Less Skills Required - Players pass with their hands only

   
 More Inclusive -
All shapes, sizes, genders and sporting background can positively contribute to their team
