GCSSA members,
With the closing of the 2022 season looming, I'd like to take this opportunity to thank all players, scorekeepers, umpires and our dedicated spectators (family and friends) for a great experience. The season wasn't without scheduling issues due to weather, and illness, but we as a Board forged on and got through it, with all teams being afforded their opportunity to compete in 30 games.
The All Star Games were a highlight for me personally as I was gifted with an army of volunteers who made it a fun event for all.
Congratulations to this season's Champion, "Doc Miner" on an excellent campaign, going 22-6-2! Good job boys!
The season end tournament is not without its own ups and downs, but overall is going fairly well. If we all can find it within us to dial back some needless rhetoric, I believe we would all have a little more fun.
As President for the first time in my new softball community, (I moved here 6 years ago, still a newbie); I still believe this is the best League I've played in, that includes, Sacramento, Vacaville, and Folsom. We are fortunate to have such a cooperative Parks Board (WGP) and some very dedicated individuals who ensure our playing surface is maintained and safe. It has been a pleasure serving you all on the GCSSA Board this season, and I am looking forward to an even better 2023 season.
Good luck to Doc Miner and Tripps Auto Body in their quest for the Tournament Championship!
Thank you,
Jim Guzman
