Description

Learn to swim or work on improving your stroke! Practices are held on Sunday evenings at Lake Forest Academy and Thursday evenings at Carol Stream Parks & Rec.

The Instructional/Coaching Swim program is for individuals who have a physical or visual disability that are new to swimming. Athletes will be assigned one-on-one to a volunteer swim instructor. Flotation devices will not be used in the teaching progression. (Sessions: 4:00 – 5:00 pm & 5:00 – 6:00 pm, ages 5-17).
NOTE: Practices on Sundays are listed from 4-6pm. Each week, swimmers will be assigned to the 4:00pm or the 5:00pm time slot, based on number of swimmers, coaches, and volunteers available.

The Independent Swim program is designed for adult swimmers who are able to swim at least 50 meters consecutively, can be completely independent while in the water (no volunteer or coach assistance needed). Workouts are provided to increase endurance, strength and speed. Instruction is given to fine tune technique. The Competitive Swim sessions will take place from 6:00pm-7:00pm on Sunday evenings.

*Limited space available. Please contact Cindy Housner (chousner@glasa.org) to confirm your spot.
