Program Overview

The Pre Academy Prep program is designed for young athletes who have participated in a Grassroots program and are interested in seeing if they are ready for Rampage Academy-level training. This short, focused program bridges the gap between beginner volleyball and more advanced, structured training.

Led by experienced Rampage Volleyball Centre coaches, athletes will review fundamental skills while being introduced to a faster pace of play, more detailed instruction, and higher-level expectations in a positive and supportive environment.

Who Can Join?

• Gender: Open to all genders
• Age Range: 8–12 years old
• Eligibility: Athletes who have completed (or are currently in) a Grassroots program and want to explore readiness for Rampage Academy

This program is ideal for players who enjoy volleyball, want an extra challenge, and are curious about the next step in their development pathway.

What Players Will Work On

Throughout the program, athletes will refine their foundational skills while being introduced to more advanced concepts, including:

• Improved movement, balance, and ready position for faster rallies
• More consistent forearm passing and overhead passing (setting)
• Serving with accuracy and power (overhand serving introduced or reinforced)
• Basic attacking mechanics, approach footwork, and arm swing
• Defensive positioning and reading the play
• Introductory offensive and defensive team systems

Coaches will emphasize coachability, focus, communication, and a strong work ethic—key qualities for success in an Academy environment.

Program Structure

The Pre Academy Prep program runs on Tuesday nights from April 21, 2026 to May 26, 2026, from 7:30–9:00 pm. Sessions are designed to challenge players while keeping them engaged and confident.

• Dynamic warm-up and movement preparation
• Technical skill work with increased reps and pace
• Positionless game-play situations to apply skills under pressure
• Short debrief to review key concepts and next steps

Coaches will also provide general feedback to help families understand whether Academy-level training may be a good fit for their athlete in the future.
