Program Overview

The Heritage Heights Grassroots Finale Program is a fun, welcoming introduction to volleyball for young athletes with little to no prior experience. This five-week program focuses on building confidence, basic skills, and a love for the game in a positive and supportive environment.

Led by experienced Rampage Volleyball Centre coaches, athletes will learn the fundamentals of volleyball through age-appropriate drills and games. The program emphasizes skill development, teamwork, and enjoyment, helping players feel comfortable on the court while preparing those who are interested for future development opportunities.

Who Can Join?

• Gender: Open to all genders
• Age Range: 8–12 years old
• Eligibility: Athletes between the ages of 8 and 12 who have little to no volleyball experience and are interested in learning the basics of the sport

This program is ideal for players who are new to volleyball, want to build foundational skills, and enjoy an active, team-based environment.

What Players Will Work On

Throughout the program, athletes will be introduced to the core building blocks of volleyball in a simple, easy-to-understand way, including:

• Basic movement, balance, and ready position on the court
• Forearm passing (bumping) with correct body positioning
• Overhead passing (setting) using safe, age-appropriate techniques
• Serving fundamentals, with an introduction to both underhand and overhand serving
• Simple attacking concepts such as footwork, timing, and arm swing
• Basic court awareness, communication, and introduction to team play

Coaches focus on positive reinforcement, effort, and sportsmanship, helping athletes feel successful while they learn.

Program Structure

The Heritage Heights Grassroots Finale Program runs on Wednesday nights from April 15, 2026 to May 27, 2026, from 6:00–7:30 pm. Each session is structured to keep athletes active, engaged, and progressing at a comfortable pace.

• Fun warm-up activities and movement preparation
• Fundamental skill instruction with lots of repetitions
• Small-group games and modified play to reinforce new skills
• End-of-session review to highlight key concepts and celebrate progress

By the end of the program, families will have a clearer sense of their athlete’s comfort level with volleyball and potential interest in more advanced training in the future.
