Recreational Volleyball Program

Hosted by Rampage Volleyball Centre in partnership with the Okotoks Recreation Centre, this Tuesday night Academy is a recreational volleyball program designed for motivated young athletes who already have the basics and are ready to build confidence and skill in a fun, supportive environment.

Who This Program Is For

This Academy is ideal for athletes who:

• Are between 12 and 16 years old
• Have a basic understanding of volleyball fundamentals (serve, pass, set, hit)
• Want to improve their skills in a low-pressure, recreational setting
• Enjoy learning through drills, team play, and guided game situations
• May be considering future school or club volleyball and want more experience

What Players Will Learn

Under the guidance of Rampage Volleyball Centre coaches, athletes will:

• Refine key skills: serving, passing, setting, attacking, and blocking
• Develop better court movement and defensive positioning
• Learn offensive and defensive systems at a recreational level
• Improve communication, teamwork, and game awareness
• Gain confidence through structured drills and controlled scrimmages

Program Format

Each Tuesday session combines:

• Warm-Up & Movement – Dynamic warm-up and volleyball-specific footwork
• Skill Stations – Focused drills to reinforce fundamentals and introduce new concepts
• Small-Sided Games – 2v2, 3v3, or 4v4 formats to maximize ball touches
• Full-Court Play – Game play with coaching feedback in real-time situations

The emphasis is on repetition, fun, and learning, rather than competition or standings.

Eligibility & Expectations

To ensure a good training pace and enjoyable experience, participants should:

• Be 12–16 years old at the time of the program
• Have basic volleyball fundamentals (able to serve over or close to the net, pass, and make controlled contacts)
• Be willing to listen, participate, and work as part of a team

This program is not a learn-from-scratch introduction; it is best suited to athletes who have had some prior exposure to volleyball through school, camps, or previous recreational play.
