FIRST TEAM || Eastern United re-signs Salomone, Preka & Caretti

Eastern United FC is happy to announce the re-signing of Angelo Salomone, David Preka and Gianni Caretti ahead of the 2022 NPL 2 season.

The trio have committed for the upcoming season, each playing a major role during the 2021 campaign.

Angelo Salomone, 22, started his football at Adelaide City FC as a 5-year-old and joined Eastern United in 2020. In 2020 he was an instrumental part of  the Reserves Team who won the grand final in 2020. In 2021, he was promoted into the First Team, he made his debut in round one against Adelaide Victory FC and went on to make 15 appearance for the club and scoring one goal.

David Preka, 17, joined Eastern United in 2019 and won the Reserves grand final in 2020, prior being promoted into the First Team the following year. The 17-year-old has made 19 appearances for the Saints, scoring on the decisive clash against Adelaide Cobras in the last match of the season.

Gianni Caretti, 22, started his football at local club Metrostars SC in Klemzig at the age of 8, years later he moved to Eastern United, played his youth football there, as well as making his First Team debut at the age of 16-years-old in 2016 against Gawler Eagles FC. He then moved to Italy to pursue is football and returned to the club in 2021. He has 21 appearance for the club.

Eastern United FC Coach Jim Karatzas said:
"We're pleased to have Gianni, David and Angelo back at the club next season, as we continue to build a strong and stable squad." Karatzas said.

"All three showed last season they are important part of  our team and towards the end of last season their performances guaranteed them a spot in this year squad."
