FIRST TEAM || Gianni Caretti departs the Saints and signs for Adelaide Uni

Eastern United FC youth product Gianni Caretti departs the Saints to join Adelaide Uni to further progress his career.

Gianni Caretti, 22, who was one of Markaj's main players in the last 2 seasons has decided to leave the club to explore further opportunities elsewhere.
Gianni Caretti started his football at local club Metrostars SC in Klemzig at the age of 8, years later he moved to Eastern Unites, played his youth football at the club, as well as making his First Team debut at the age of 16-years-old in 2016 against Gawler Eagles FC. He then moved to Italy to Pursue is Football and returned to the club in 2021.
He made over 46 league appearances and 4 cup appearances, his 50th game was in round 22 against Modbury Jets SC.

Manager Gabriel Markaj had this to say:
"I would like to thank Gianni for being part of our journey; not many people know how important of a player Gianni was for us on and off the field. No doubt his character help to build a healthy and inclusive environment at our club.
Of course, I am a bid disappointed that he leaves us in the middle of a project but at the same time I understand that he is a young player and he needs sufficient game time to develop. I have no doubts he will be a key player at Adelaide Uni."

"I wish all the best and the door will always be open for his return to the club in the future." he continued.

The club will soon start the process to complete the First Team coaching staff.
