Q: What is the cost to play?

A:Football- $100 registration, $175 uniform, $100 volunteer deposit, $100 equipment deposit ($50 each additional child) Total $475 Each child

Cheer- $100 registration, $285 uniform, $100 volunteer deposit, Total= $485 (Each child for new cheerleaders) *Returning Cheerleaders - price may vary depending on what uniform pieces they will need. 

Q: Registration Fee is $100 (non refundable once  uniform has been ordered) for all athletes.

Deposit of $100 volunteer/$100 equipment deposit ($50 each additional child)

Q: What’s included in the registration fees?

A: Football registration includes:

Cost to participate, TVYFL Insurance, field costs, and equipment reconditioning.

Q: What’s included in the Football Uniform Package includes:

A: Integrated padded pants, long knee white & pink socks (for the month of October), Practice Jersey, Customized Game Jersey, Dri Fit Shirt, and Shorts. 

Q: What’s included in the Cheer Uniform Package :

A: Shell, Skirt, Crop Top, Boy Cut Brief, Camp T-shirt, Camp Short, Camp Bow, Warm-up Jacket, Warm-up Pant, shoes, No show socks, pom poms, and backpack. 

Q: What will I need to purchase?

A: Players will need molded football cleats, mouthguard(s) with a tether, and a water bottle. Chin strap is recommended. Sunscreen

Q: When does the season start & how long does it last?

A: The season begins after 4th of July and typically runs through early November.

Q: When and where are games played?

A: All games are played on Saturdays. TVYFL typically hosts half of its games in Gustine, CA and half at visitor locations. Locations include Merced,Turlock, Mariposa and Modesto.

Q: What times are games played?

A: Game schedules vary from as early as 8:30am to 7:30pm, depending on the division team. Players must be at the game 2 hours prior to scheduled game time.

Q: What division should I register my child in?  

A: TVYFL provides divisions for kids 5-14 years old based on the child’s age on November 29 of the current year. 

Jr Novice: 6-8 years old

Novice: 9-10 years old

JV: 11-12 years old

Varsity: 13-14 years old (no high school students are eligible)

Q: How much volunteer time is expected from parents?

A: Parents are expected to volunteer for league and/or team activities for the duration of their team’s season, which includes playoffs and bowl games. Parents are also expected to assist during game day (chain gang, play counter, snack shack, and other team specific duties). Five 2 hour shifts (total of 10 hours) 

Q: How often do teams practice?

A: Pre-conditioning weeks - 4 days Monday to Thursday 

Conditioning weeks - 4days Monday to Thursday 

Regular practice weeks (beginning mid August) - 3days Tuesday to Thursday

Q: How long are practices?

A: 2 hours for both football and cheer.

Q: What about fundraisers?


A: All GRYFC Parents participate in a minimum of two mandatory fundraising activities throughout the season. There are additional fundraisers throughout the season to offset the costs of the organization.


*Cheer will do separate fundraisers throughout the season for their events. 


Q: How much is the gate fee to see a game?


A: For TVYFL Games, the gate fee is as follows:


Adults $7 Seniors/Veterans $5 and children under 5 are Free. TVYFL Athletes are free as well. 

Please note: during games the temperature tends to rise. We recommend bringing your own canopy, shade, tent, or umbrellas to guard from the sun. 

Q: Can I request a specific Coach or Team?

A: No, TVYFL is age-based league. Participants are placed on their age appropriate level.
