Description

Welcome to the 2026 Optimist Youth Tackle Football Season.

For over 77 years, Optimist Football has served the Treasure Valley with a mission to keep football affordable, competitive, and rooted in community. We focus on developing athletes the right way by building fundamentals, confidence, teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship while preparing players for middle school football.

We are excited about the new opportunities and improvements planned for this year. This season includes customized jerseys with optional nameplates. Players may purchase their own white helmet as long as it fits properly and passes our safety inspection before being approved for use.

All teams follow Optimist Football rules and guidelines including minimum play requirements each half to help ensure player participation and development.

Additional Opportunities for Optimist Players after the season:

Canyon County Optimist is excited to partner with Football University through FBU Idaho. To be clear, it does not get any bigger than FBU when it comes to player development and exposure.

Optimist players can be selected to the FBU Idaho team to compete in regional and national events and gain national exposure.
