Description

Travel Basketball is open to all boys currently in grades 2-8 who are looking for a more competitive basketball experience. You must be registered for Clinic (Grade 2) or Recreation Basketball (Grade 3-8) in order to participate in travel. If you are in Grades 6-8 and are on the roster for the Northvale School Team, you are not required to play Rec. A refund will be issued should you choose not to play. 

Travel games run from early January through the end of March. There may or may not be a game or two scheduled in mid-December. Schedules are set by the league. Northvale Recreation does not set the schedule. Most games are played M-F with the occasional Saturday or Sunday game. Games will not start earlier than 5:30pm during the week. All games are played within Bergen County. 

Grades 2 & 3 do not have playoffs. There are standings which are used to determine flighting for the next season. Please note that equal playing time is not guaranteed in this program. A travel uniform (Jersey & Shorts) is required to play. If you do not have a travel jersey & shorts from a previous season, please purchase both pieces via the online store. 

No registrations for travel will be taken after October 23rd. 

Important: Tryouts may be held based on registration numbers. Payment will not be required at time of registration. Invoices will be sent if there are enough players to form teams. PLEASE DO NOT PROCESS PAYMENT AT THE END OF THE REGISTRATION. THIS PROGRAM IS ON A WAITLIST ONLY AT THIS TIME. 

Please do not register with any other town. All 4 towns work closely together to review registrations and determine if certain age groups are to merge. Your child will be given that opportunity should it arise.
