Program Name: Mandatory Coaches Clinics – August 30th: Player & Position Skill Development

Sport: Volleyball

Gender Eligibility: Both boys and girls teams supported

Program Dates: August 30, 2026 (Core Clinic Day)

This one-day clinic is a required professional development session for all A.C.E. volleyball coaches. Parents and players benefit directly from these sessions, as they help ensure that every team is led by a coach who is prepared, informed, and committed to the long-term growth and well-being of each athlete.

Purpose of the Coaches Clinics

The Mandatory Coaches Clinics are designed to:

  • Reinforce A.C.E. coaching standards, code of conduct, and communication expectations.
  • Promote age-appropriate training methods for both beginner and advanced players.
  • Prioritize athlete safety, including injury prevention and emergency response procedures.
  • Ensure consistent teaching of volleyball fundamentals, position-specific skills, and team systems across all teams.
  • Strengthen the positive connection between coaches, players, and parents.

What Coaches Will Learn

Technical & Tactical Training

  • Core volleyball fundamentals (serving, passing, setting, attacking, blocking, and defense).
  • Age-appropriate drills and progressions for both new and experienced athletes.
  • Position-specific skill development for setters, hitters, liberos/defensive specialists, and servers.
  • Team systems and rotations tailored to different age groups and skill levels.

Player Safety & Well-Being

  • Proper warm-up and cool-down routines to reduce the risk of injury.
  • Basic injury recognition and appropriate response guidelines.
  • Guidance on managing player workload, return-to-play expectations, and avoiding burnout.
  • Strategies to support athletes’ mental and emotional well-being in a competitive environment.

Positive Coaching & Communication

  • Building a supportive, inclusive, and respectful team environment.
  • Encouraging character, leadership, and resilience in young athletes.
  • Effective communication with players and parents throughout the season, including feedback, expectations, and conflict resolution.

How This Benefits Parents and Players

While the Mandatory Coaches Clinics are designed for coaches, the ultimate goal is to enhance the experience of every player and provide peace of mind for parents.

  • Improved Player Development: Athletes receive consistent, high-quality instruction focused on skill growth, position-specific development, and game understanding.
  • Safer Training Environment: Coaches are trained to prioritize player safety, appropriate training intensity, and sound practice design.
  • Positive Culture: Emphasis on respect, teamwork, accountability, and sportsmanship on and off the court.
  • Clear Expectations: Parents can trust that all A.C.E. coaches follow shared standards, policies, and communication guidelines.

Who Should Attend

  • All current A.C.E. volleyball coaches (mandatory attendance).
  • Newly hired or prospective A.C.E. volleyball coaches (mandatory if assigned to a team).

This event is not a training session for players, but we encourage parents and athletes to be aware of the clinic, as it reflects our ongoing investment in the quality, consistency, and safety of the A.C.E. coaching staff.
