Dryland Training with Norco Diving
The Flip Lab: Home of Norco Diving Dryland Training
The Flip Lab was created to support Norco Diving athletes with a dedicated, year-round dryland training environment—extending learning beyond the pool and strengthening the foundation of every dive.
Dryland training is not a replacement for water time. It is a critical complement that allows athletes to build skills deliberately, reinforce mechanics, and develop confidence in a safer, more controlled setting.
Why Dryland Matters in Diving
Many of the most important aspects of diving happen before an athlete ever leaves the board:
-
Approach consistency
-
Takeoff mechanics
-
Body awareness and alignment
-
Air sense and spatial control
-
Confidence under pressure
The Flip Lab allows these elements to be taught, refined, and reinforced with repetition—without the physical toll of constant water entries.
Specialized Equipment. Experienced Coaching.
Norco Diving’s coaching staff brings years of experience using trampolines, dryboards, matting systems, and advanced spotting techniques to support safe, effective skill development.
A defining feature of the Flip Lab is its belt spotting systems, which are used as controlled learning tools—not novelty devices. These systems allow coaches to:
-
Assist athletes through correct movement patterns
-
Introduce new skills progressively
-
Reduce fear while reinforcing proper technique
-
Provide feedback in real time
Learning how to use these systems effectively takes years of coaching experience. At the Flip Lab, they are applied intentionally and only when appropriate—always under direct coach supervision.
Integrated Into Every Norco Diving Program
Time in the Flip Lab is built into every Norco Diving program offering, supporting athletes across all levels—from foundational development to advanced training.
Dryland training at the Flip Lab is used to:
-
Accelerate learning without rushing skills
-
Improve consistency and confidence on the board
-
Reduce overuse and impact-related fatigue
-
Reinforce habits that carry into competition
The result is smarter training, not just more training.
