Sport WAVES Beach Volleyball
WAVES Beach Volleyball training programs provide players of all experience levels with the opportunity to learn to play beach volleyball. Our training programs provide a warm welcoming environment while not compromising the formal training necessary for a player’s development. WAVES is a sports ministry of Ocean View Church that utilizes a More Than A Game philosophy and faith based values to teach our athletes life lessons. Coached by former collegiate and professional volleyball athletes.

Description
Athletes will be divided into groups when training: Elementary (3rd-5th Grade), Jr High (6th-8th Grade), and High School (9th-12th Grade). All trainings will be held at Crown Cove Aquatic Center located on Silver Strand State Beach between Coronado and Imperial Beach at the beach volleyball courts, Tuesdays/Thursdays 5:30pm-7:30pm.

Return To Play Waiver
In consideration of being allowed to participate in, and on behalf of, OCEAN VIEW CHURCH SAN DIEGO’S athletic and physical education programs and related events and activities, the undersigned acknowledges, understands, and agrees that: 1. By participating in the athletics and physical education programs, and related events, practices, games, activities, meetings and the like, I understand that children, students, coaches, teachers, volunteers, officials, people, and others will be in close contact with one another and there will be possible exposure to and illness from infectious diseases, including but not limited to MRSA, influenza, and COVID-19. I also understand that while children, students, coaches, teachers, volunteers, officials, individuals, and families may be engaged in measures to help reduce the risk of the spread of these disease, whether away from or at school/campus, the risk of serious illness and death does still exist; 2. I understand that the risk of becoming exposed to or infected by the infectious diseases, including COVID-19, may result from the actions, omissions, or negligence of myself (including my family) and others, including, but not limited to, OCEAN VIEW CHURCH SAN DIEGO’S employees, coaches, teachers, volunteers, program participants and their families. 3. I KNOWINGLY AND FREELY ASSUME ALL OF THESE RISKS, both known and unknown, EVEN IF ARISING FROM THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASEES or others, and assume full responsibility for my participation. I accept sole responsibility for any injury to myself (including, but not limited to, personal injury, disability, and death), illness, damage, loss, claim, liability, or expense, of any kind, that I may experience or incur in connection with my attendance at, or participation in, OCEAN VIEW CHURCH SAN DIEGO’S programs, events, activities, and the like. 4. I agree to comply with the stated and customary terms and conditions for participation regarding protection against infectious diseases. If, however, I observe any unusual or significant hazard during my presence or participation, I will remove myself from participation and notify the nearest official immediately. I will also not participate in any athletics or physical education programs, events, or activities if I am exhibiting, or have been knowingly and recently (at the time) exposed to, COVID-19, flu or MRSA symptoms or people with these infectious diseases. 5. I, for myself and on behalf of my heirs, assigns, personal representatives and next of kin, HEREBY RELEASE, DISCHARGE, AND HOLD HARMLESS OCEAN VIEW CHURCH SAN DIEGO and their officers, officials, agents, and/or employees, other participants, sponsoring agencies, sponsors, advertisers, and if applicable, owners and lessors of premises used to conduct the event (“RELEASEES”), WITH RESPECT TO ANY AND ALL ILLNESS, DISABILITY, DEATH, or loss or damage to person or property, WHETHER ARISING FROM THE NEGLIGENCE OF RELEASEES OR OTHERWISE, to the fullest extent permitted by law. I HAVE READ THIS RELEASE OF LIABILITY AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK AGREEMENT, FULLY UNDERSTAND ITS TERMS, UNDERSTAND THAT I HAVE GIVEN UP SUBSTANTIAL RIGHTS BY SIGNING IT, AND SIGN IF FREELY AND VOLUNTARILY WITHOUT ANY INDUCEMENT.

OVC & OVSP Liability Waiver
My digital acknowledgment in my child’s online registration confirms my understanding that participation in activities associated with the ministries and programs of Ocean View Church (OVC) and Ocean View Sports Park (OVSP), including organized and intramural athletic teams, and general participation in activities associated with OVC and/or OVSP are on an amateur basis and that there may be an element of risk involved. Ocean View Church and/or Ocean View Sports Park is not responsible for any injuries or accidents sustained and encourage all participants to obtain insurance for student/player protection. In consideration of being allowed to participate in any way in OVC/OVSP athletic programs, any and all related events and activities, the undersigned acknowledges, understands, and agrees that: 1) As the parent/legal guardian of the above stated child registered in OVC/OVSP athletic programs, I understand my responsibility for the health and welfare of my child and willingly agree to maintain adequate health/medical insurance coverage for my child that will be in effect as long as my child is registered in this program. I understand that, in the event that I allow a lapse in coverage, OVC/OVSP does not in any way assume liability for any expenses incurred as the result of a lapse in health/medical insurance coverage. 2) In the event of accident or injury, which occurs during related activity, practice, game, event, or function, OVC/OVSP maintains 3rd party supplementary accident insurance. OVC/OVSP does not maintain any standing or responsibility for the payment of claims or payments for claims in regard to claims filed on 3rd party accident insurance. 3) The risk of injury from the activities involved in programs offered is significant, including the potential for permanent paralysis and death, and while particular rules, equipment, and personal discipline may reduce this risk, the risk of serious injury does exist; and, 4) I KNOWINGLY AND FREELY ASSUME ALL SUCH RISKS, both known and unknown, EVEN IF ARISING FROM THE NEGLIGENCE OF OVC/OVSP OR ITS REPRESENTATIVES OR OTHERS, and assume full responsibility for my child’s participation. 5) I willingly agree to comply with the stated and customary terms and conditions for participation. If, however, I observe any unusual significant hazard during my child’s presence or participation, I will remove my child from participation and bring such to the attention of the nearest official, representative, or oversight personnel immediately. 6) I, for myself and on behalf of child, my heirs, assigns, personal representatives and next of kin, HEREBY RELEASE AND HOLD HARMLESS OCEAN VIEW CHURCH and/or OCEAN VIEW SPORTS PARK, their officers, officials, agents, and/or employees, other participants, sponsoring agencies, sponsors, advertisers, and if applicable, owners and lessors of premises used to conduct the event (“RELEASEES”), WITH RESPECT TO ANY AND ALL INJURY, DISABILITY, DEATH, or loss or damage to person or property, WHETHER ARISING FROM THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASEES OR OTHERWISE, to the fullest extent permitted by law. 7) I, the undersigned parent/legal guardian of the above named child, a minor, do hereby authorize the coaches, assistant coaches, parents of team members, or other related personnel acting in the capacity of a supervisor as my Agent, acting on my behalf, to consent to medical, surgical, or dental examination and/or treatment. In case of emergency, I hereby authorize treatment and/or care at any urgent care or hospital. By checking "YES" below, I hereby acknowledge my agreement with the following statement regarding the Ocean View Sports Park Liability Waiver: I HAVE READ THIS RELEASE OF LIABILITY AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK AGREEMENT, FULLY UNDERSTAND ITS TERMS, UNDERSTAND THAT I HAVE GIVEN UP SUBSTANTIAL RIGHTS BY SIGNING IT, AND SIGN IT FREELY AND VOLUNTARILY WITHOUT ANY INDUCEMENT.
