Program Overview

The Kid Pitch 9U–10U (Teams) program is a competitive baseball league designed for developing players who are ready to advance their skills in a team-focused environment. This program introduces and reinforces full kid-pitch rules while emphasizing proper fundamentals, sportsmanship, and game awareness.

Players will experience real-game situations, including pitching, catching, base running, and defensive strategies, all in a positive and supportive atmosphere.

Season Dates

Program Start Date: May 18, 2026
Program End Date: June 19, 2026

Teams can expect regular weeknight activities throughout the season, including practices and competitive games.

Eligibility

• Age Group: 9U–10U
• Gender: Boys and Girls
• Age Requirement: Players must be 9 or 10 years old prior to May 1 of the current year.
• Location: Open to families in Irving, Texas and surrounding communities.

This program is ideal for players who have some prior baseball experience and are ready for a more structured and competitive level of play.

Program Focus

The Kid Pitch 9U–10U (Teams) program builds on core baseball skills and introduces more advanced concepts appropriate for this age and level:

• Transition to full kid-pitch gameplay and pitching mechanics
• Fundamentals of hitting, fielding, and base running
• Position-specific instruction (infield, outfield, pitcher, catcher)
• Understanding game rules, strategies, and situational play
• Teamwork, communication, and good sportsmanship
• Confidence-building in a supportive competitive environment

Competitive Environment

This is a competitive program. Players will be placed on teams that compete against other Kid Pitch teams within the association. Game scores, standings, and team performance are tracked, while coaches and staff ensure the focus remains on player growth, effort, and enjoyment.

What Families Can Expect

• Organized team practices led by volunteer coaches
• Scheduled league games against similarly aged teams
• Clear communication from coaches and the association regarding schedules and updates
• A safe, family-friendly ballpark environment

How to Get Ready

Players should come prepared with:

• Baseball glove (required)
• Cleats and baseball pants
• Batting helmet and bat (if available – some team equipment may be shared)
• Water bottle and weather-appropriate clothing
