Chaperones

WHAT IS EXPECTED OF YOU AS A TEAM CHAPERONE

First and foremost, you are the line of communication between club, coach, and parents.
You will often be asked to get tasks done in order to ensure teams do what needs to get done.

SOCIAL MEDIA:
1. We must ensure our players and parents are posting appropriate messages on the various types of social media.
2. We ask everyone to use the hashtag #Nonavolleyballacademy when posting on social media.
3.  You are more than welcome to tag us on your posts and encourage players and parents to do the same.
     - Instagram: @NonaVolleyballAcademy
     - Twitter: @VolleyballNona
     - Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/NonaVolleyballAcademy
Please encourage them to LIKE and FOLLOW our social media pages.

SPORTS PLUS:
1. Team page: Your team's Sports Plus webpage is a great place to post pictures and videos of your team.
2. App: Please ensure that everyone (players, parents, and coaches) have downloaded the Sports Plus App.
Once downloaded, people can have their team and have access to a lot of information on the tip of their fingers.

If people are having trouble with not receiving notifications from the app, please make sure they are logged in and have changed their app settings to send notifications.

COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECT:
Make arrangements for the team to complete their community service project requirement.
Remember, the earlier in the season you do this, the better. Also, make sure everyone is able to attend.

TOURNAMENTS:
This may be the most difficult task for a team chaperone.
We understand everyone wants to best for their own child, but we need everyone to be the best supporters of the TEAM!
With that said, there are a few things we need you to keep in check:

1.) Travel - Ensure that everyone has booked their trips according to information provided by the office.

        A. Flights must be booked for prior to 8 pm the day prior to 1st day of competition and after 6 pm on the last day of competition.

        B. Hotels must be booked by the deadline given by Lina Vanessa Rico.

        C. Help coach with team meals.

        D. If players are unable to travel with their parents or guardian, we ask that you help guide parents to find a solution.

2.) 24-hour rule - parents may NOT approach the coach during tournaments about playing time or coaching decisions. If after 24 hours (after the tournament has ENDED), they still want to talk to the coach, they must follow the chain of command explained below.

3.) Chain of Command - We request that parents encourage players to discuss issues with coaches.
Parents are only to be involved after all steps were explored, as state below

        1st step: Player/Coach
        2nd step: Player/Coach/Head Coach
        3rd step: Player/Coach/Head Coach/Parent
        4th step: Player/Coach/Head Coach/Director/Parent

4.) Uniforms - please remind players of jersey order at tournaments (we ALWAYS end tournaments wearing RED jerseys (if playing Regional, ALWAYS wear black)
1 Day Tournament - Black Jersey
2 Day Tournament - Black Jersey, Red Jersey,
3 Day Tournament - Black Jersey, Red Jersey, Black Jersey

5.) Players are supposed to stay with the teams at all times they are in a team function.

6.) Hotel behavior: help ensure players are on their best behavior while representing Nona Volleyball Academy.
