Description

Warrior Basketball League 2026

Boys and Girls Grades K–6

The Warrior Basketball League is a long-standing tradition of the WC Athletic Department, created to give young athletes an enjoyable, instructional, and competitive basketball experience. The league is open to boys and girls in kindergarten through sixth grade, and participation is welcomed from both WC and non-WC students.

Players are grouped into separate leagues based on gender and grade level and will all receive equal playing time. Before games are played, coaches will lead a 20 minute practice focusing on teaching and developing fundamental basketball skills. All games are officiated and consist of a 35 minute running-clock. Teams will compete in a full schedule of games throughout the 6 week season starting January 2 and ending February 6.

The cost to participate in Warrior League is $125 per player, payment is required at the time of registration, and there are no refunds. A Warrior League jersey is also included in your fee. There are no cuts, guaranteeing each registered participant a place in the league. Registration is open to boys and girls in kindergarten through sixth grade, and will be open until Monday, December 14th at 12:00pm. Late registration will be available but no jerseys will be included as jerseys will be ordered on Monday, December 14th.

The boys and girls Warrior League programs are run slightly differently so follow the boys or the girls links below for additional information and to register.

Warrior Basketball League — Boys FAQ

Where do I receive info and updates about Warrior League throughout the season?

The WC youth sports page will have schedules and all the information needed.

When is Warrior League?

Saturday mornings for 6 weeks in January/February

Dates: 1/2, 1/9, 1/16, 1/23, 1/30, 2/6

What time is Warrior League?

Saturday mornings between 8:00am-12:00pm. Each team will get one hour on the court each week for practice/game.

Where does Warrior League take place?

All Warrior League activities are held at The Hogue Gym- 1485 Lazelle Rd.

Where do we meet?

All players will meet together at the beginning of their court time in the main gym with a devotion and prayer led by the high school boys basketball players. They will then be split by grade level into the main gym and aux gym to begin their practice followed by their game.

What is the cost?

It is $125 to play. The fee is due at the time of registration and there are no refunds.

What do I wear?

Each player will receive a Warrior League jersey from Egelhoff Sports. The cost is covered by your registration fee and jerseys will be passed out at the first practice/game on Saturday, January 2nd. If you register past Monday, December 14th at 12:00pm you will not receive a jersey.

When will I know the exact hour I play?

Schedules will be posted on the WC youth sports page by Monday, December 28th.

When will registration close?

Registration will close on Monday, December 14th at 12:00pm. Registration will also be capped at 160 boys so registration could close sooner if the league fills up.

How are teams selected?

The boys will not be placed on set teams for the entire season. Instead, they will practice all together with their grade level and then will be randomly put on teams to play one another. Those teams will also change each week.

How many players will be on each team?

Each team will be maxed at 10 players giving each boy plenty of playing time as they will evenly rotate 5 in, 5 out.

I am interested in coaching a team or refereeing games. What should I do?

We encourage volunteer coaches and referees! Please indicate you want to coach or referee on your son’s registration form.
