The U8 Co-Ed Touch Rugby Program is part of the Raleigh Rugby Youth Program and is designed specifically for players age 8 and under (ideally starting at age 5). This co-ed, non-contact program provides a safe and supportive way for young athletes to experience rugby while having fun and making friends.
Through age-appropriate activities and games, players learn how to:
Pass, catch, and kick the ball
Run with agility and control
Work as part of a team
Build coordination, balance, and overall fitness
Develop sportsmanship and confidence
Practices and scrimmages emphasize fun, skill-building, and teamwork over competition. Touch rugby provides an exciting introduction to the game without tackling, making it a safe entry point for children and parents new to the sport.
Parents who register for the U8 Touch Program will receive program updates, schedules, and information about upcoming registration, practices, and events. The program is a great way for young players to start their rugby journey while being part of the larger Raleigh Rugby community.
